Join us for our end of year Christmas Yoga Fundraising event, proudly brought to you by Jessica Dewar Yoga and Village Cinemas. Together we will enjoy a rejuvenating yoga practice in the most stunning, art deco cinema in Australia.
We are excited to announce this year’s charity we are raising money for is Animals Australia, who are doing phenomenal work to protect animal rights.
At Jessica Dewar Yoga, our dream is for a kinder world (for all of us) and your energy and contributions are helping us to make this so.
Following class we will begin the Christmas festivities at the Nineteen Forties Rooftop Bar for complimentary nibbles and drinks brought to you by our very supportive local businesses.

Beginners Yoga: 4-Week Intro Program

Jessica Dewar Yoga’s Beginners Yoga: 4-Week Intro Program is a dynamic, detailed and exciting course for anyone interested in beginning their journey with yoga. It is also the perfect opportunity for current yoga students to deepen and expand their practice. Drawing upon the passion, skills and expertise of our senior teachers, you will be taught to practice yoga with clarity, energy and confidence.
Students can expect individual attention, personal development, mentoring and assistance from experienced and conscientious teachers; a strong foundation in yoga asana (postures) and an introduction to yoga philosophy.
Each course runs for 4 weeks over which the basic yoga postures will be introduced and consolidated. On completion of the course students will feel confident to continue with weekly group classes. For more information about what to expect, see Beginners Yoga.

Intro To Flow

Have you walked into a flow or Vinyasa class and felt overwhelmed? How do you keep up with everyone in the class? What is a flow? Why is the pace a lot quicker? Why do we do so many chaturangas?
Jessica Dewar Yoga’s Intro to Flow is a program built to empower everyone interested in creating a safe and effective practice. It’s the perfect opportunity for current regular students to expand their practice, as well as beginners to feel confident walking into flow classes.
Students can expect individual attention, personal development, mentoring and assistance from the team. The course will cover every component of a flow class from ujjayi breathing, building core strength, understanding your options for modifications and how to use props. After 4 weeks, you will feel empowered and confident to continue your practice!

Sun Salutation Workshop: Finding the spiritual through the physical

Surya Namaskara, also known as the Sun Salutation consists of a series of twelve postures and is one of the most holistic exercise sequences due to its powerful connection with body, breath and mind.
- The stretching and compression of the abdominal organs helps heal the digestive system.
- It improves posture by broadening the chest, toning the arms and strengthening the abdominal muscles.
- It develops muscular strength and spinal flexibility and is one of the best methods for weight loss.
- The Pranayama components (breath control) strengthen the lungs, oxygenates the blood, and detoxify the body by ridding it of carbon dioxide and other toxic gases.
- For women: menstrual irregularity is improved, assists in easy childbirth and balances hormone levels by normalizing activity of the endocrine system; especially the thyroid gland.
- It improves sleep and reduces anxiety and nervous tension.
