All people benefit from practicing yoga, but kids seem especially able to embody yogic practices of  unifying body, mind and spirit leading to self-awareness and healthy interpersonal relationships. At Jessica Dewar Yoga we are so excited to continue sharing the power of playful, integrated yoga with your child over the summer holidays.

Much more than 'just yoga', during the Summer Holiday Program your child will learn poses and play yoga games that will support them physically and emotionally as they gain skills and confidence in cooperation, communication, leadership, compassion, strength, flexibility, mindfulness and creativity. This will be a good opportunity to deepen relationships between siblings and friends.
Each class we will explore different themes that will develop clear communication skills, healthy relationships, cultivating stillness and calm whilst also encouraging play and confidence of self expression. We especially encourage our yogis to share their stories to help us look inward and listen to what our bodies, hearts and minds are saying.

Together we will focus on:

  • Improving balance, coordination and strength

  • Addressing difficult emotions

  • Improving communication skills

  • Adopting mindfulness into everyday activities

We are honored to have the opportunity to get to know your child and help them develop skills that will support them in all areas of their life.


 The Program: Mindfulness & Asana for Kids

  • Week 1: It’s about balance! Let’s start our holiday program with fun balancing poses combined with mindful eating. And if mum & dad agree, there will be some yummy treats to enjoy!*

  • Week 2: Calming breaths and relaxing meditations. This week we will learn how to breathe like bees, relax in the clouds and sing our favourite songs.

  • Week 3: Understanding our emotions. Learn to slow down, breathe and practice special poses to boost confidence, cultivate acceptance and find inner peace.

  • Week 4: Let’s open our hearts through fun back bending poses. Together we will take time to notice how we speak to ourselves and to others, so that we can spread more love and kindness into the world.

  • Week 5: What do you fear? This week we are going to challenge those fears through lots of fun upside down poses! Working with partners, we will learn to trust one another and help each other to face those fears.

  • Week 6: Tying it all together! Let’s balance, breathe, bend backwards, do handstands and then relax. The perfect yoga practice to keep you feeling calmer, stronger and excited to enter into your new year!
