I discovered Yoga quite late and completely by accident. I was never one for any physical exercise, never been to a gym until recently. I was going through a very difficult period in my personal life. This in turn had consequences on my physical and emotional wellbeing. It was around that time I agreed to accompany a friend of mine for a trial yoga class; more to keep her company than for me. I haven’t looked back since.

After years of practicing I felt so many benefits. Not just physically. I was emotionally stronger, more confident, less stressed, flustered and anxious. I wanted to share this transformative experience with others so that it may help them discover this path of health and wellbeing. I did my first 200hr YTT in Hatha & Meditation in 2015/16 in Sri Lanka. Followed by an Ashtanga & Vinyasa YTT in 2017.

Yoga is not just about your Asana practice. The 8 paths (Ashtanga) and the code of Morals and ethics (Yama’s & Niyama’s) of Yoga taught me to self-evaluate who I am and my purpose. I am more self-aware, more present, empathetic and more mindful. This mindfulness impacts my behavior and the lifestyle choices I make.

It is with a sense of joy and service that I teach Hatha, Yin, Ashtanga & meditation. My yoga classes are never just an asana practice – I always incorporate Pranayama and meditation which I believe is essential and heightens the benefits of the Asana practice.

It doesn’t matter what your fitness level, age or body type is; Yoga is for everybody. If I can do it, anybody can! Yoga is a step towards self discovery, love, health, compassion and contentment. It transformed me and let me be my truest self. At 42 I am becoming the woman I love.
