Today has been simply wonderful. Beginning with my personal practice at the wee hours of the morning followed by another two classes, my day has been filled with blissful movement and working with amazing people.
Sitting here now, I can’t help but feel completely content with how my day has been. I feel alive and completely present in my world, and a huge part of this comes from being among incredible people. I use to worry teaching would drain me. That I would lose energy or enthusiasm. But I couldn’t have been more wrong. What I’ve come to realise is how fundamentally important it is to follow a passion, for ‘work’ is no longer ‘work’. It’s play. It’s fun. It’s a time to just be yourself and enjoy the ride. For years I’ve followed people who have inspired me, who always spoke of this unimaginable way of living (for me it has been), but it turns out they really were speaking the truth. Work really doesn’t need to be ‘work’.
In saying that, I appreciate we can’t all pack our bags, drop responsibilities and follow our lifelong dream of becoming an artist, or writer, or whatever it is you want to do. No. That would be irresponsible. However with a little bit of planning, patience and by making sure you take time to integrate these amazing, life giving activities into your day, you will be on that path to living a truly fulfilling life in no time. Your days will seem brighter the moment you do this. Try it and see!
I would love to hear of any plans, goals, dreams people have which they would like to bring into reality. By supporting one another, reminding one another that anything is possible (disclaimer: if we want it badly enough), then we can all continue to take steps in the right direction.
Just remember - at the end of the day we have no option but to make these dreams a reality, because we only have now. So make the most of it. Enjoy the time and be whoever you want to be.
